SAN DIEGO, Calif. – June 9, 2006 – Verari Systems™, the premier developer of powerful, platform-independent blade computing systems, today announced the support of Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003. Verari Systems' line of high-density blade server clusters will now be able to provide customers with updated support and features that enhance their experience during rapid node deployment, cluster configuration, monitoring and policy-based scheduling.
"Our customers come to us for high-quality turnkey solutions that include operating systems and middleware with the most up-to-date features,” said Dave Driggers, CEO of Verari Systems. “Delivering a solution that can be plugged in, turned on and operated with little or no additional configuring gives our customers significant time to market advantages, and allows us to reach new customers that thought High Performance Computing was too complex and costly. By coordinating with Microsoft, we feel confident that Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 will provide users of our highly portable Microsoft Windows-based servers with enhanced functionality and significant value.”
Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 is Microsoft’s official entry into the world of High Performance Computing (HPC). Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 is an integrated, standards-based compute clustering platform built on top of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions, and empowers customers to harness distributed computing resources to solve complex problems. Benefits include simplified cluster deployment and management, enhanced integration with IT infrastructure, broad application support and a familiar development environment. Combined with the power of industry-standard x64 (64-bit x86) computers, the ease of use and security of Microsoft Active Directory services and the Microsoft Windows operating system, Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 provides a secure and affordable High Performance Computing solution.
“Microsoft is pleased to be working with Verari Systems to help customers accelerate time-to-insight by providing a reliable, High Performance Computing platform to our customers,” said John Borozan, group product manager, Windows Server Division at Microsoft Corp. “The best-of-breed, commercial-off-the-shelf components used in Verari Systems’ line of HPC products provide the ideal platform for integration with Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003.”
