Verari Systems™ Delivers New Datacenter Standard with Quad-Core Intel® Xeon™ Server Line Up
New Servers Based on Quad-Core Intel® Xeon™ Processor 5300 Series are Optimized for Space Constrained Installations

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – November 14, 2006 -- Verari Systems™, the premier developer of powerful, platform-independent blade computing and storage systems, announced today that it will introduce blade and rackmount server platforms based on the new Quad-Core Intel® Xeon™ processor 5300 (codenamed Clovertown), giving customers the ideal solution for a full range of scale out applications.

Integrated across Verari Systems' broad, thermally efficient line of servers, the new quad-core processor will improve productivity, security and power efficiency. Built-in technologies such as new memory and I/O innovations boost system performance and keep critical business information protected.

Verari Systems achieved a performance peak score of 63 GFlops per node based on the Linpack benchmark with their VB1250 blade featuring the Intel S5000XAL server board and two Quad-Core Intel Xeon X5355 Processors, 8GB (8x1GB) 667MHz FB-DIMM memory; Red Hat® Enterprise Linux 4 - Update 2, EM64T and Intel Linpack 3.0.1. Verari has also measured tremendous results in its support of Convera, a provider of search technologies for professionals. Convera continually indexes more than 5 billion Web pages. Based on tests using Convera’s indexing software, the Quad Core Intel Xeon 5300 series processor would allow Convera to index up to three times as many documents per Watt compared to its current servers.
